About Coach

I've always been intrigued with trying new things and tackling physical challenges. But I also didn't really want to do what all of the other kids were doing. I think that's why I didn't do many team sports growing up (football, baseball, basketball, etc.), but I would play tennis and was on the wrestling team in high school. I also did martial arts outside of school for several years. In college, I was really influenced by watching UFC and so I got into practicing mixed martial arts, which was a combination of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing. Around that time is when I was also into competing in Spartan Races, which is an obstacle course mud-run. Put all of that together and you get a very eclectic fitness background and I figured I liked fitness enough, let me try pursuing it as a career! So I earned my personal trainer certification from NASM and started personal training at a gym. 5 years and several gyms later, I've taken what I had learned from all of those experiences (the good and the bad) and I feel confident and excited to help my clients find joy and happiness in their fitness journey!

Turning Point

Is it cliche to say that every adversity I've ever faced had created its own turning point in my life? Well it's true. Every obstacle, every failure, every disappointment, every hurt, and every bad decision has caused me to reflect and learn and refine who I am as an individual and as a fitness coach. I'd be lying if I said that starting on this fitness journey was smooth sailing and a straight line to where I am today. I've had MANY failures since starting this journey as a fitness coach and there's too many to mention in this short little blurb about myself. So all that I will say is that trusting in God in all of those negative moments have really developed me into a strong and confident coach, and I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for them.

Motivation & Passion

I've always seen the biggest influences in my life as educators and mentors to me. So it makes sense that I went to school for Music Education. Though I didn't end up teaching music in a school, I find that I really enjoy teaching and educating people in the realm of fitness! I love sharing what I know and what has helped me with others, and more than that, I love seeing the progress my clients make from the guidance and motivation I can give them. It brings me great joy to watch my client's fitness journey, seeing them accomplish and overcome things they couldn't do at the start of their journey.
